And so it begins...

First off, my heart and prayers go out to the families and the community affected by the horrible tragedy in Connecticut. Words do not begin to express how much sorrow I feel for them. May God bring them peace.

Now on to the reason for my post tonight. It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant people are when it comes to shootings. It wasn't even 36 hours after this tragedy and I've already heard of people saying that if there were stricter gun laws or a gun ban in place this wouldn't have happened. Are you kidding me!?! How exactly does that make sense? All that does is restrict the law abiding citizens, you know the guys that would actually be able to stop these things from happening. I have always and will forever be pro carry. I will forever support any school or teacher that wants to carry to school. One day when I have kids I hope that their teachers are some ignorant liberal that thinks the world runs on hopes and dreams. I hope they have teachers that will teach them that in order for evil doers to be defeated there must be good people to stand up to them.

There will always be evil in the world, the question is, what are you doing to fight it? I prepare myself for the day that my god will call on me to protect my loved ones and the people around me, I pray the doesn't come, but still I prepare. Are you prepared?

In light of all the recent shootings...

Before I say anything else I want to say that my heart goes out to the victims and there families of all the recent shootings. As an American and a gun rights supporter it makes me sick to see these things happen.

Its always interesting to see how the media and more importantly how society reacts to a shooting. The news media responsibility is to get the facts. To find out the why and how and to report it in an unbiased manner, though I find that depending on the reporting agencies political affiliation varies how the report is broadcast. That in turn sways society's opinion. Not mine.

After the Aurora shooting there were a lot of people that believed that stricter gun laws needed to be put in place. That the list of places that guns weren't allowed should be expanded to include places of large public gathering. That somehow this would keep them safe from those that want to cause harm. That a sign posted on a door would magically keep every gun out. I hate to break it to you, criminals don't follow the law, hence why they are criminals. The only people that those signs affect are law abiding citizens. A law abiding citizen that only wants to protect themselves and those around them. Now tell me, if you were in a shooting, wouldn't you want someone there with a gun that could fight back on your behalf? I would. All to often all we hear are about the bad shootings, but we hardly hear about the times where a law abiding citizen stopped a shooting. I was proud to be a concealed carry permit holder when I heard about the 70 year old man in Florida that stopped the robbery in the internet cafe because he was carrying.

I'm not trying to say that everyone should have to carry a gun. I believe that everyone should have the option to carry if they want to. I respect everybody's opinion even when I don't agree with it. So please don't try to infringe on my right as I don't infringe on yours.

Follow up to supporting Starbucks

So I want to thank everyone that supported Starbucks on Feb 14th. I was so happy to get multiple messages from my friends telling me how they supported Starbucks. I also went into my local Starbucks and showed my support while open carrying. I asked the server behind the counter if she had noticed a difference in business flow and the response put a smile on my face, she informed me that business had actually gotten busier. I went in a few days later and was told the same thing, that business had not slowed and had actually increased. So again thank you for all your support and exercising your rights.

Here is a good quote for you...

"There's no such thing as a good gun. There's no such thing as a bad gun. A gun in the hands of a bad man is a very dangerous thing. A gun in the hands of a good person is no danger to anyone except the bad guys."

Please support Starbucks Feb. 14th...

I know the title probably throws you all off because you know that I don't drink coffee, but I read an article, that I will post the link to at the end of the blog, that really got under my skin because it is another example of a group of people FORCING there opinion and views on others' and trying to take away others' freedoms.
The article is about a group the believes eliminating the ability of law abiding citizens to carry firearms, either open or concealed, in a public establishment, Starbucks, will make the world a safer place. I have tried several times to understand how this logic makes sense and I can't. All this does is takes away my ability to protect myself and the people around me. What is going to stop a criminal from carrying their firearm or stop them from using it in a public place where they know that all the LAW ABIDING CITIZENS aren't able to carry because they obey the law? The group calling for this action to be taken towards Starbucks is the National Gun Victim's Action Council (NGAC). Please understand that I have great sympathy towards those affected by gun violence. It is something that I hope I never have to experience beyond what I have already encountered and is something that I hope and pray none of my loved ones ever have to experience, but in my mind I still don't understand how having a law abiding citizen carrying a firearm "significantly increases everyone's risk of being a victim of gun violence".
Further more the way that they are going about forcing their opinions and beliefs is despicable. To punish a business because they allow American citizens to openly exercise their second amendment rights is shameful. It is a sad day when the opinions of the few rule and dictate the lifestyles and abilities of others. Why do we as Americans who have been blessed with the ability of free thought and action submit to the will of others? At what point do we say enough is enough and draw the line, and further more stand behind our views? I don't expect everyone to agree with my opinion, and I encourage others to form their own opinion, but please DO NOT force your opinion on me. DO NOT attempt to take away my liberties because you don't agree with them.
I am Pro second amendment. I believe that every LAW ABIDING CITIZEN should have the RIGHT, if they so chose to exercise it, to carry a firearm. I believe that the actions of the minority(criminals) should not be held against the majority(non-criminals). I will forever support business that allow and encourage their patrons to exercise their rights. I will not support and will voice MY OPINION against those that infringe on my rights. I will not tell others that they are wrong for supporting any business, but I will not participate.

I would hope that if you feel the way I do about your rights that you will join with me in encouraging Starbucks and other business' to not give into the demands of the few and let each person decide for themselves what rights they can and cannot exercise freely.

These are my views, opinions, and beliefs. Take them for what they are.

As promised here is the link to the original article that I read.

A quick explanation...

So many have wanted to know my opinions about several topics and I haven't been able to figure out how I've wanted to word it at the time so... now when I know what I want to say I will just post it here. A lot of what I write will probably be rants and I will offend several people in the process but anyone reading this should expect it because of how blunt and brutally honest I am.
I hope you enjoy and if you have questions about my opinion please feel free to email me.
